United Cup 2023

OVERVIEW

We had an incredible six days at the United Cup Community Festival outside the RAC Arena, and wow, was it a blast!

From December 29th, 2023 to January 3rd, 2024, we turned the area into a vibrant celebration of cultures, in partnership with Tourism WA. It was all about bringing a festive vibe to the games and showcasing the diverse backgrounds of the teams.

OBJECTIVE & CHALLENGE

Our aim was to activate the area outside the RAC Arena both before and after the games, creating a festive and engaging atmosphere for attendees. The challenge lay in celebrating the diverse cultures of the participating teams, which required careful curation of entertainment and activities that reflected the unique heritage of each team.

Ensuring a seamless and continuous engagement during the peak summer season added to the logistical complexities, especially with high temperatures dictating the need for appropriate amenities to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of all attendees.

INNOVATION & IMPLEMENTATION

We kept things cool and exciting through the cultural performances like Serbian dancing, which gave everyone a taste of global traditions. DJs like DJKP, DJ MAC, and DJ Gemma Mac kept our spirits high with beats that made you want to move. To beat the heat, we decked out the place with mister fans, making sure everyone stayed cool while they soaked in the fun.

RESULTS & SUCCESS

The festival was a hit! People loved the cultural showcases and the continuous buzz of activity. The Minister for Tourism, Rita Saffioti, even dropped by multiple times, adding a bit of star power to our gatherings. The energy was infectious, with attendees dancing, laughing, and really connecting with the performances.

We’re super proud of how the festival turned out. It was more than just an event; it was a place where sports fans met cultural festivity, and everyone left with a bigger smile. The feedback has been fantastic, and it feels great knowing we created a space where people could come together and share in the excitement.

“I have worked with Natalie Pronin from Mayler & Co on numerous event projects over the past five years. Most notably, through my role as Sponsorship Manager for Tourism Western Australia, I enlisted Mayler & Co for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Trophy Tour™ events in Perth and Busselton this July. Our collaborations with Mayler & Co have always been outstanding. Their knack for bringing visions to life, meeting targets timely and within set budgets, and surpassing stakeholder expectations is commendable. Natalie’s leadership is noteworthy; her adept communication skills and relationship-building capacity are exemplary. Their integration with our team has always felt seamless, complementing our resources and systems. Furthermore, their extensive network of contractors and suppliers ensures that every event they touch turns into a success. Every event we've co-hosted has consistently garnered praise from attendees, our executive board, and even Ministers.”
